Some travel experiences are remembered for the scenery. Others, for the people you share them with. And there are some that manage to combine both: the power of an unforgettable destination and the feeling of having experienced something that goes far beyond the journey itself.
The W Circuit, also known as the W Trek, is one of the most iconic routes in Torres del Paine National Park. Its trails take you through some of the most iconic landscapes in Chilean Patagonia: Base Torres, Los Cuernos, Francés Valley, Británico Viewpoint, and the first Grey Glacier Viewpoint.
But Las Torres Patagonia’s new guided W Circuit Journey offers something different: the chance to see the W not just as a five-day hike, but as a guided, shared experience that gives you a deep connection to the land. Every section of the journey has its own rhythm, its own challenges, and its own rewards.
Over 5 days and 4 nights, this guided program combines hiking, accommodation in a fully equipped campsite or mountain stay, good food, private transportation from Puerto Natales, catamaran cruises, park admission, and round-the-clock support from your host. The experience is designed so that every traveler can enjoy the journey with greater peace of mind, a deeper sense of connection, and a stronger sense of purpose.
Because in Patagonia, the destination matters, but the way you get there can make all the difference.
The W Circuit Journey was designed for travelers who want to tackle Torres del Paine’s most famous trek with a more personalized, organized, and meaningful guided experience.
Unlike a self-guided hike, this program includes a host who accompanies the group throughout the entire route, helping to ensure a smooth journey, organize shared activities, and enhance the group experience. Their role isn't just to get you from point A to point B, but seeing you through the full adventure: from the moment you arrive at the park until the end of the last day.
This attention to detail changes the way you experience the W. After all, exploring Patagonia isn't just about hiking. It also means learning to pause, look around, share what you’ve seen at the end of the day, and understand that each step is part of a larger adventure.
The program also includes activities designed to connect hikers with the region and with each other, such as the Explorer’s Ritual, opportunities to bond and celebrate at key points along the route, and group gatherings after each day of the trek. These are the little touches that make the journey a more integral experience.
The program is for small groups of up to 12 people, which helps create a more intimate, flexible, and connected environment. Every day becomes an opportunity to bond with other travelers who come to the park with a shared goal: to challenge themselves, see amazing sights, and behold some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.
The W Circuit Journey visits the main natural attractions of Torres del Paine National Park, combining challenging hikes, magnificent scenery, and rest stops at key points along the route.
Over the course of five days, travelers walk along a route that showcases the park's diversity: granite mountains, native forests, turquoise lakes, glaciers, and scenic viewpoints that epitomize the beauty of Chilean Patagonia.
The adventure begins in Puerto Natales, from where the group takes a private shuttle to Torres del Paine. As you set off, the town fades into the distance and the landscape begins to change: the pampas stretch out on the horizon, and the mountains herald the entrance to the park.
Upon arriving at the Central Sector, travelers are greeted, checked into their accommodations, and introduced to the host who will accompany them along the entire circuit. This day is designed to prepare the body, bond with the group, and get into the rhythm of the trip before we start hiking.
Day two kicks off with one of the circuit’s biggest challenges: the hike to Base Torres, perhaps the most iconic sight in all of Patagonia.
The trail winds through the Ascencio Valley, crossing forests, mountainous terrain, and more challenging sections before reaching the glacial lagoon overlooked by the three granite towers that give the park its name.
After walking back down, the day ends in Central Sector, where the group can rest, share their experiences from the day, and recharge their energy for the rest of the route.
Day three marks a transition on the circuit. The route continues towards Los Cuernos and Francés sectors, winding through landscapes where water, mountains, and forests come together to create a picture-perfect Patagonian scene.
The hike takes the group around part of Lake Nordenskjöld and past some of the most distinctive landforms of the Paine Massif. It is a rather scenic day, perfect for taking in the park’s contrasts and enjoying the journey into the heart of the W.
At the end of the day, travelers arrive at their lodgings, enjoy another meal, and relax in one of the most special spots in Torres del Paine.
Day four takes you deep into some of the park's most breathtaking landscapes. The day's journey takes you to the Francés Valley, an area surrounded by mountains, hanging glaciers, forests, and granite cliffs.
Those who continue on to the Británico Viewpoint arrive at one of the most breathtaking spots along the route, offering sweeping views of the mountain range and a sense of complete immersion in the heart of Torres del Paine.
This day perfectly captures the spirit of the W Journey: hiking, pushing your limits, pausing to reflect, and sharing experiences. It’s not just about getting to the lookout point; it’s about enjoying the whole day as part of a bigger picture.
The last day takes you to Grey Glacier, another of Torres del Paine’s great natural landmarks. From the first viewpoint, travelers can take in the sheer scale of the glacier and the Southern Ice Field.
The journey continues with a catamaran cruise on Lake Pehoé, which offers a scenic farewell to the park from a new perspective.
The return to Puerto Natales marks the end of the program, but not necessarily the end of the trip. Those who hike the W take home much more than just photographs: they take home stories, landscapes, challenges they’ve overcome, and memories that will stay with them long after the trip is over.
The W Journey is perfect for those who dream of hiking the W Circuit but are looking for a more guided and meaningful experience.
It’s the perfect option for travelers who don’t want to hike alone, for those who enjoy group dynamics, or for those who want to explore Patagonia with more support and connection.
It can also be a great option for those who have gone backpacking before but want this experience to have a more personable and meaningful feel. Having a host, group activities, and opportunities to celebrate help give the trip its own identity, rather than just being a series of trails and photographs.
The program upholds the adventurous spirit of the W, but adds an extra layer: the chance to share the experience, where every day has a purpose and every milestone becomes part of a bigger story.
