Multigenerational Trips to Torres del Paine National Park
Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia is an adventurous destination for people looking to explore one of the world’s most remote locations. Travelers worldwide come to the park to experience its vast mountain ranges, verdant forests, and million-year-old glaciers. Many travel solo or in pairs, but we’re here to tell you Torres del Paine National Park is also perfect for multigenerational family trips. Here, at the end of the world, there is something for everyone.
Adventures Large & Small
Here at Las Torres Patagonia, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting large and small family groups, and the question they typically ask upon booking is if there’s something to do for everyone. The answer is a resounding Yes! If a part of your family group wants to hike the Base Torres in the morning and another wants to take a more accessible stroll along the shores of Laguna Azul (Azul Lagoon), it is entirely possible. Once you arrive at the hotel, the group can discuss with our bilingual guides how they want to see the park and pick the perfect adventure for each person. In the evenings, at Hotel Las Torres, families rejoin in front of our warm fireplace and share the day's delights.
Cultural Activities for Everyone
Of course, groups that travel together always want to take time to be together once they are here. If the first days are spent splitting up depending on what type of adventure they want, the next is perfect for reconnecting and experiencing Patagonia's local traditions and culture. Our family or multigenerational groups enjoy visiting our local working ranch, Cerro Negro, and experiencing together what life was like for the Patagonian pioneer in our traditional ranch museum. They can also enjoy a sheep-sharing demonstration in the barn. At the end of the day, the cultural experience culminates with a traditional BBQ that our Baqueanos prepare - everyone together sitting around the table, chatting and sharing stories with the views of Patagonia as a backdrop.
More for the kid in all of us
While some of our more challenging excursions are not meant for younger children, there’s plenty to keep the kiddos busy, too. A visit to our stables, where they can watch our horses come in from pasture, is just one activity they can participate in. Together with their families, the kids can also visit ancient civilizations with a tour to cave paintings of the Aonikenk culture. They can also run around one of the world’s southernmost regenerative gardens right here at Hotel Las Torres. Our garden produces seasonal fruits and vegetables using bio-intensive, sustainable methods. At night, another learning experience happens when they sit down to eat and see that the same herbs and vegetables, they saw in the garden are now a part of the meal in our restaurant.
At Las Torres Patagonia, large or small, our adventures perfectly fit every multigenerational family. To learn more about how to travel together with us, contact us today.
