Where to spend the night on the W Circuit
The W Circuit is an epic adventure through the best-kept secrets of Patagonian nature. In this 5-day trek, the trails will reveal themselves with every step to show you beautiful landscapes, one of a kind vegetation, and the opportunity to see Torres del Paine’s wildlife at its finest.
To make the most of this Patagonian adventure, it is essential to rest well each night. At Las Torres Patagonia, the secret to a good night's sleep is to stay at our mountain stays or fully equipped campsites.
This blog will give you an overview of everything you need to know about our accommodations, from the options available at each site to what you can find in each magical sector, whether it's buying your favorite snack or drinking that well-deserved cup of coffee to warm up. Let’s get started!
Central Sector: The adventure begins
Your adventure on the W Circuit will begin early in the morning at the Puerto Natales bus station, where you must take the bus to Torres del Paine National Park. Enjoy the colorful sunrise on the way, and unwind as you gradually enter a place where guanacos and condors are part of everyday life.
The bus will drop you off at Amarga Lagoon, where you will take a short transfer to our Welcome Center in the famous Central Sector. The Welcome Center has everything you need for your adventure, from chocolates, cookies, and drinks to items you may have forgotten to bring, such as a cap for the cold, an extra T-shirt, or a sweatshirt to keep you comfortable.
From here, you have two options for overnight accommodation: a mountain stay or a fully equipped campsite.
The mountain stay is a meeting place for all our visitors. Explorers from all over the world share their adventures of the day in our café over a beer or other drink, end the day with dinner, and then retire to their rooms, which can accommodate up to eight people and where you can share with other hikers.
Another option for those who prefer direct contact with nature and a more intimate space are our campgrounds, where our elevated tents allow you and a companion to enjoy the magic of Patagonian nights. Because it is raised on a metal frame, you will be insulated from the dampness and cold of the ground. When you open your tent each morning, you will be greeted by stunning views of Patagonia in all its splendor.
The Central Campsite also has a café, bathrooms with hot showers, and our administrators will be happy to help you with any issues that may arise during your visit.
Cuernos Sector: Between mountains and a turquoise lake
Cuernos is a great place to stay, offering some of the most impressive views of Torres del Paine National Park. This sector is located on the shores of Lake Nordenskjöld, in the shadow of the imposing Cuernos del Paine. These jagged rock formations appear to rise from the earth like horns, hence their name.
Like Central, Cuernos also has mountain stays, where you can share with other adventurers. Many of our guests end up forming friendships that go from a brief encounter into long-distance friendships that last for years.
We also have a fully equipped campsite for those who want to sleep under the stars in this beautiful place, where mountains and forests frame your view of the hanging glaciers. You can hear the glacial ice crunching from one ear and, from the other, the waterfall cascading into the lake.
Cuernos also has its own café, where you can dine with a wonderful view of Lake Nordenskjöld, and if you wish, enjoy a cup of coffee or sip yerba mate while watching from the terrace of our café. An unparalleled experience to end a day of adventure.
Francés Sector: The green paradise of Torres del Paine National Park
If you are making a list of must-see places during your visit to Torres del Paine National Park, Francés should be in one of the top three spots.
Resting at the foot of the Paine Massif, just a few hours from Cuernos Sector, is the Francés Sector, a natural wonder that will delight your eyes with every corner of its expanse. Green spreads across the lower slopes of the mountain, creating a striking contrast with the rocks above.
Like the other sectors mentioned in this blog, Francés Sector has its own mountain stay.
The Francés Sector also offers a fully equipped campsite, ideal for those who want to sleep under the Patagonian sky and wake up to the sunrise spreading light over the landscape.
One of our favorite meeting places is the Francés café, where you can connect to Las Torres Patagonia's prepaid Wi-Fi, buy a beer on a hot day, or a cup of freshly brewed coffee on a cold one. There are also snacks and anything else you might need to sweeten up your day.
Upgrade your visit: W Express + Circuit
There is one more place where you can spend your nights while hiking the W Circuit: Hotel Las Torres. That’s right! With our new W Express + program, you can end your hike on the circuit through the best spots in Torres del Paine National Park with a final night at our hotel.
Here you can enjoy our newly renovated rooms, take in the breathtaking views from your window, and dine at Coirón Restaurant.
You can also visit our spa, an oasis of relaxation in the middle of the national park, where you can choose from one of our many treatments to replenish yourself after your exhausting journey through the park.
After a restful night in one of our rooms, have breakfast the next day at the buffet while you watch the sun peek through the mountains and light up the hotel’s front garden.
The experience concludes with a transfer in our regular vans to your destination in either Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas. This is definitely the best way to end such a memorable experience.
Are you ready to start your adventure? Would you rather have a hostel experience and meet adventurers from all over the world, forming lasting friendships, or would you prefer a more intimate experience at our fully equipped campsites? No matter which option you choose, we will always provide you with the best experience and ensure that your visit to Torres del Paine is an unforgettable one.
