At Las Torres Patagonia, we offer a variety of lodging options for adventurers of all kinds who are looking for an unforgettable experience in Patagonia. Our mountain hostels are the perfect choice for those who want more than just a place to rest. Here, you can immerse yourself in a vibrant environment while meeting people from all over the world and create friendships that will last through time and distance.
Our Mountain Hostels have been described as “a more relaxed version of the backpacking experience” by our visitors. Thanks to our facilities, hikers can end their day in a comfortable bed with heating and a hot shower and enjoy conversation with other backpackers.
What will you find?
These places are like large hostels, where you’ll find areas that serve as common spaces– whether you want to relax and just marvel at the scenery, play a board game, chat over a beer, or check out the photos you took that day.
The dining areas are large spaces that have long shared tables, and smaller tables for more personal dinners. There are a few options for meal services, including: breakfast, box lunch (lunch to go), lunch, and dinner. If you’d like a vegetarian option, you can let us know in advance by email when making your reservation.
As for the rooms, here you’ll find room accommodations for 6 or 8 people. So, if you are traveling in a small group, you’ll probably have the opportunity to share your nights in the company of other hikers.
If you want to keep your social media followers up to date on your adventures, don’t worry! All our refuges have pre-paid Wi-Fi on-site.
Now, where to stay? Let’s introduce you to the Central, Francés, and Cuernos mountain hostels.
The Central Mountain Hostel: Your choice at the start of the Base Torres trail
Welcome to our base camp! Our Central Refuge is strategically located at the beginning of the trail that leads to the famous peaks of Torres del Paine and is the perfect place to raise your glass with a craft beer and enjoy a hearty meal.
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been there for a few days or you’re just passing through, you can stop by our store to pick up some snacks, connect to Wi-Fi, and indulge in simple pleasures.
It’s only steps away from our Welcome Center, which will make your stay easier by giving you access to purchase trekking gear and other essentials or indulge in treats like pizza or a hot dog.
Cuernos Mountain Hostel: A paradise on the shores of the lake
It’s hard to pick favorites here in Torres del Paine, but this sector is truly wonderful. Although the peaks of Los Cuernos will take your breath away, they aren’t the only attraction in these parts: Nordenskjöld Lake and a stunning waterfall also await you.
There are a variety of things here that will make your stay unforgettable. There are different common spaces available, and you have the choice of staying either in our mountain hostel or in our camping area.
All meal services are available here, and you can also access any of our prepaid Wi-Fi points to share your photos on Instagram. Don’t forget to tag us @lastorres.patagonia.
Francés Mountain Hostel: Welcome to the tranquility and relaxation of the domes
Sector Francés, or the French Sector, is renowned for the breathtaking 360º view outside, which will live on in your memories. From here you can look out over the surrounding areas of Lake Nordenskjöld, Paine Grande Peak, Ferrier Peak, Monte Tenerife, and the Chacabuco and Balmaceda mountain ranges—all of them inspiring.
You’ll probably see the famous Foehn winds as they pass, moving like small tornadoes of water from across the lake, and you may even hear the sound of avalanches coming across from the Francés Glacier.
You’ll also be able to enjoy our cafeteria and bar, which was inaugurated in 2024, a place for you to enjoy a drink with your friends, have a bite for lunch, or just connect to the internet.
The domes here have an 8-person capacity, so you’ll never feel lonely. You can always count on friends along the way.
